Ive fitted a mk1 Sporting engine to a Mk2 Sporting and fitted a fly by wire Bravo engine to a cable throttle Bravo, twice. Its far easier to fit the newer engine into the older car. Swap the studs in the manifold. Use the cat with the newer engine and plug up the down stream sensor. Make a plate for the cam sensor.

No.1 Serious danger of burns to you. No.2 On releasing the pressure cap the water will boil damaging the engine. The reason for this is once the liquid water becomes a gas/steam the gas causes localised hot spots in the engine much hotter than the water.Cracking or distorting the cylinder head etc.
The smaller 1.2-litre engine will do 52.3mpg and emit a fairly unimpressive 124g/km of CO2. The larger 1.4 is a bit quicker, but as a result fuel economy drops to 49.6mpg and emissions jump to I was wondering if anyone can help with a problem that I have run into whilst attempting to change the timing belt on my wife's mk2 Punto 1.2 16v.
